Traditionally folks only wore Christmas costumes in the month of December. A man would dress like Santa Claus and sit in a shopping center in front of a huge decorated Christmas tree.
Children would wait in line to sit on Santa’s lap and tell him what they’d like for Christmas. Then, either the shopping center staff or the child’s parent will take a picture of the child and Santa. Other adults dressed as Santa’s helpers or elves help navigate the children.
For those who celebrate Christmas, the entire month of December is devoted to the festivities, from decorating the Christmas tree to attending a performance of the Nutcracker, along with the seemingly never-ending round of parties.
